PONTIAC – The fifth annual Cardboard Regatta is happening during Pontiac’s Party in the Park Saturday at 3 p.m.
Kristin Arbogast of Pontiac Parks and Recreation explained how the regatta works.
“It’s boats all created by cardboard and duct tape,” Arbogast explained. “Folks have a team. It can be one person in a boat. It can be up to eight people. Folks are encouraged to get teams, build a boat regatta, be whatever design you would like and then we put them in at Play Park and we race from one swinging bridge to the next swinging bridge.”
Arbogast said about 15 boats participated last year.
