LINCOLN – The City of Lincoln has declared a local disaster and emergency to exist for the period of seven days from today’s date.
In a Facebook post, Lincoln mayor Seth Goodman asks Lincoln residents to “leave tree debris, etc. on curbs (NOT blocking roads or alleys) for the local street department to pick up over the next week. We have extended the landfill hours this Wednesday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. It will also be open Saturday 8 a.m. – 3:50 p.m.”
There have been no major injuries or loss of life as a result of the storm, but 1686 Lincoln residents remain out of power, which crews are working to restore.
Goodman also explained the grand opening for the new street & alley department originally scheduled for tomorrow will be rescheduled for a later date. He urges residents to continue to remain safe and out of the way of road crews and utility companies.
