Fairbury to celebrate A Local Taste

FAIRBURY – Fairbury will be celebrating local agriculture at an event next month.

“A Local Taste” is planned for Sunken Park in downtown Fairbury on August 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Fairbury Chamber is looking for vendors before July 3.

Organizer Brad Steidinger described the purpose of the event.

“Central Illinois and our area is really known for corn and soybeans, but there are a lot of other agricultural businesses in the area who do meat, dairy, produce and different things and sell to Chicago and throughout the Midwest,” Steidinger explained. “What we want to do is bring an event to Fairbury where we could feature those businesses and give people a chance to come in and try some of their products and just learn more about what these agriculture companies have to offer.”
