Semi driver dies in I-55 wreck

BLOOMINGTON – A 43-year old man is dead after an accident involving a semi on I-55, a mile north of the W. Market St. exit, near the Twin-Cities.

McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis said the victim was the driver of the semi. It was the only vehicle involved in the wreck, which was reported about 1:40 Thursday afternoon.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released while Davis notifies his family. Davis has scheduled a Friday autopsy, and State Police are also investigating.
