Murder suspect faces child porn charges

BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man accused of murder now also faces child pornography charges.

Bloomington Police say Kyle Brestan, 32, faces seven counts related to manufacture and possession of child pornography.

Brestan has been in the McLean County Jail since May 25th on murder charges connected to the stabbing death of Shannon Hastings, 27, of Peoria. Hastings’ body was found several days earlier in a Bloomington hotel room. An autopsy revealed she had been stabbed more than 100 times.

If convicted of murder, Brestan faces up to natural life in prison.
