NORMAL – A 22-year old man is dead after an apparent drive-by shooting in north Normal, and police are asking for the public’s help in locating the killer who sped off in a dark-colored vehicle.
“A little bit before 2 o’clock, we received a call of shots fired in the area and also that someone had been hit,” said Normal Police Lieutenant Tim Edmiaston.
” We did find one male that was the victim of gunshots. He was transported to the hospital and he was later pronounced deceased,” Edmiaston told our news partner, WMBD-TV.
Police were canvasing the area. Officers recovered five bullet casings from a handgun.
McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis has yet to release the victim’s name.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and eligible for a cash reward of up to one-thousand dollars for information leading to an arrest or indictment.
