BLOOMINGTON – Authorities are labeling as suspicious the death of a Peoria woman, found dead Sunday afternoon in a motel room on Bloomington’s west side.
An autopsy has been performed on the body of 27-year old Shannon Hastings. Police and firefighters found her unresponsive in a motel room in the 400 block of Brock Drive about 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police and McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis have not released details how they believe Hastings died, although Davis said her office is awaiting toxicology reports that will show whether drugs or alcohol were in Hastings’ body at the time of her death.
This would be McLean County’s first homicide this year.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help to solve the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Bloomington Police Detective Todd McClusky at 309-434-2380, Detective Matt Dick at 309-434-2475, or McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111.
