BLOOMINGTON – Two days after he was laid to rest, U.S. Army Ranger Sergeant Josh Rodgers will be honored by Bloomington’s mayor and city council.
They’re expected to adopt a proclamation tonight expressing “deep appreciation” for Rodgers’ dedication to his country and community.
“Our country and community has sustained a great loss in his death,” the proclamation says. It also notes Rodgers’ passing leaves the city with a “deep feeling of sorrow for the loss of such an honored and respected citizen.”
The statement goes on to say Rodgers “earned the respect, admiration, and high regard of all with whom he came into contact.”
And, it expresses sympathy and condolences to Rodgers’ family.
