Man injured in Bloomington apartment shooting

BLOOMINGTON – Police say a 20-year-old man was hospitalized in a shooting Thursday night at an apartment complex on the city’s south side.

Bloomington Police were called to the Highland Hills Apartment complex on Springfield Road at about 9:15 p.m.

Police say the victim was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal with injuries that don’t appear to be life threatening. His condition is not available.

Witnesses told police they heard multiple gunshots and saw four teenagers or young adults running from the scene. Witnesses say they saw possibly one or two getaway vehicles.

Police say the victim was not a resident of the apartment complex. No one is in custody as police continue to investigate.
