BLOOMINGTON – An endangered tiger is now residing at Miller Park Zoo.
The zoo reported the Sumatran tiger is 10 years old and named Rojo. He arrived in Bloomington three weeks ago from the Topeka Zoo.
Sumatran tigers are the smallest of the tiger subspecies and found naturally only on the Indian Ocean island of Sumatra. The wild population has decreased dramatically due to destruction of the tiger’s natural habitat.
Rojo is the only tiger at Miller Park Zoo.
