One of two new faces on the Bloomington City Council will be that of Ward 9 resident Kimberly Bray.
Bray won the seat held by Jim Fruin in the April general election. Fruin did not seek reelection.
The election of Bray means the majority of Bloomington City Council seats will be held by women.
Bray told WJBC’s Sam Wood that the milestone was not on her mind during the election.
“It’s not anything I had on my radar, to tell you the truth,” she said. “I’m just pleased that the voters made this election for the most qualified and capable folks to serve.”
Bray will join Jamie Mathy as newcomers on the council. The pair will be sworn-in May 1st.
