BLOOMINGTON – How do you convince your kids the value of money? Perhaps by taking them to the library this weekend for story time. The Bloomington Public Library and the Towanda District Library will host a reading of the book “Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees” on Saturday, April 22 at 10 am.
Melissa Libert of Country Financial, which is presenting the program as part of Smart Money Week, says the reading is part of a program called Money Smart Kids Read.
“Really helping the kids understand that money is something that is earned and that we work hard for it and that we have to make choices on how we spend the money,” said Libert.
Kids who attend the reading will have a chance to go home with a free copy of the book which was written by Deletra Hudson.
Money Smart Week is a national public awareness campaign to help people better manage their personal finances.
