Bloomington police arrest suspect in stabbing incident

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington police have made an arrest related to a stabbing late Thursday night.

Police said Justin R. Roof, 23, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery/great bodily harm and aggravated battery/use of a deadly weapon.

The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Lambda Street, which is where police had been called to at 11:27 p.m. Thursday. Police said they found a 22-year-old male with a stab wound to his head. It was reported the stabbing occurred after an argument at a party.

The victim suffered what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to an area hospital.

Roof was taken to the McLean County Jail. Police said no other suspects are being sought at this time.
