LeRoy police arrest pair in connection with armed robbery

LEROY – LeRoy Police have arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery report last Sunday.

LeRoy Police arrested Tyler Gilman, 20, of LeRoy on preliminary charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery and theft using a firearm. Police also arrested Jarod Roberson,18, of LeRoy on a charge of obstructing justice.

Two men told police they were robbed and beaten in a wooded area near railroad tracks adjacent to the Bradlee Park Apartments last Sunday. Police say they’ve determined the incident was an isolated, targeted event and not a random street crime.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant Nathan Wilkins at 309-962-3310.
