Bloomington police searching for sexually violent person

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Police Department is searching for a man registered as a sexually violent person, who the said cut off his GPS ankle monitor.

David Hermosillo is wanted on a McLean County Warrant for Escape of a Sexually Violent Person. Police reported the 50-year-old was required to wear a GPS ankle monitor as part of his conditional release. Hermosillo had been living on West MacArthur Street in Bloomington. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

According to police, Hermosillo should be considered armed and dangerous and caution should be used.

Police said Hermosillo is 6’1″, 225 lbs, bald with brown eyes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Thomas Rena at 309-275-5345 or email [email protected]. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call McLean County Crime Stoppers at (309) 828-1111.

The Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Task Force are assisting the BPD with the investigation.
