BLOOMINGTON – The director of the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts has died.
Tina Salamone died yesterday at her Bloomington home according to city parks director Jay Tetzloff. She was 58.
Salamone took over as director the the BCPA in December of 2013. Salamone also directed the Miller Park Summer Theater and performed on the stage she oversaw last year in a 10th anniversary performance of Love Letters with nationally-known actor and Central Illinois native Walt Willey.
Tetzloff told city staff today that he has never met anyone more passionate about the performing arts, and probably never will.
