SPRINGFIELD – The state lagged in job creation last year and unemployment is up.
Bob Goff with the Illinois Department of Employment Security said new jobs have been hard to come by across the state’s economy.
Overall unemployment is 5.7 percent, up a tenth of a point from last month. Illinois unemployment rate is now a full one percent higher than the national rate.
