Fitzgerald re-elected chief judge

BLOOMINGTON – The Eleventh Judicial Circuit judges have re-elected Kevin Fitzgerald to a second term as chief judge.

Fitzgerald became an associate judge in 2000 and was appointed as a resident circuit judge in 2006. Fitzgerald was in private practice with the law firm of Thomson and Weintraub from 1981 until his appointment to the bench in 2000.

He is a 1974 graduate of Central Catholic High School, and graduated from Illinois State University in 1978. He received his law degree from the University of Illinois in 1981. He and his wife Susie have three children, Kelly, Megan and Casey.

Fitzgerald’s new term as chief judge extends through the end of 2018.
