Winter Weather Advisory issued for Central Illinois

BLOOMINGTON – Sundyay marks the first Winter Weather Advisory for Central Illinois, issued by the National Weather Service.

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the counties of Knox, Stark, Peoria, Marshall, Woodford, Tazewell, and McLean are subject to the winter weather. The cities of Galesburg, Toulon, Peoria, Lacon, Eureka, Pekin, Bloomington and Normal should be prepared for snowfall extending from the morning until later in the afternoon. It is expected that two to three inches of snow in most of the counties, but there is a possibility of up to four inches falling in Stark, Marshall, and Woodford counties.

Ground temperatures will be in the mid-30’s, which could cause roadways to become slushy. Drivers are asked to remain safe and take precautions in the weather.

Drivers should also be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibility.
