BLOOMINGTON – The defense attorney for Kirk Zimmerman has filed a motion arguing the McLean County judge who issued search warrants against Zimmerman might have been influenced by misleading information.
Zimmerman is accused of murdering his ex-wife Pamela Zimmerman in November 2014. The motion filed by attorney John Rogers said prosecutors misrepresented the results of gunshot residue tests collected from Zimmerman’s clothing and hands.
Rogers argues the inconclusive results were used to bolster the search warrants.
Zimmerman’s next court appearance is scheduled by Monday.
