VenuWorks hires new Coliseum executive director

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington’s Coliseum has a new executive director.

Management company VenuWorks says Lynn Cannon was hired to oversee the Coliseum after a national search.

Cannon was part of the management team that opened the United Center in Chicago in 1994. During her tenure there, the arena hosted the 1996 Democratic National Convention; NBA Finals in 1996, 1997 and 1998; and Frank Sinatra’s final arena concert performance in 1994. Cannon also served in top management at Arlington Park Racecourse and most recently was director of the Navy Pier IMAX Theatre, which became one of the five top-grossing IMAX facilities in the nation.

Cannon begins her duties at the Coliseum on Monday.
