BLOOMINGTON – The Salvation Army in Bloomington’s annual Make A Difference Red Kettle fundraiser has raised $106,874 so far.
That’s about 21 percent of the $490,000 goal. Director of Development Angie Fulton said that’s a great start, but they are a little behind where they need to be at.
“Specifically, in the mail appeal and other donations. So we want to encourage people to continue to give. Continue to the kettles,” said Fulton. “This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it allows us to provide services throughout the year in McLean County.”
Fulton hoped to see a lot of donations on Giving Tuesday.
“We do have an exciting thing going on. Harlan and Chad Geiser ring from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. (on Tuesday) at Jewel on Oakland. Their goal is to raise as much as they can in an hour,” she said.
Fulton said last year the two raised more than $2,000 in an hour.
