BLOOMINGTON – If you are starting your holiday shopping this weekend, how about buying an extra gift for someone who might not have much of a Christmas this year?
The WJBC Brotherhood Tree campaign kicks off on Black Friday with drop-off boxes for unwrapped gifts at close to a dozen locations, including WJBC, Chenoa Pharmacy, Children’s Discovery Museum, all Commerce Bank locations, Denny’s Doughnuts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Gingerbread House, Great Harvest Bread Company, Heritage Plaza, Hy-Vee, Wild Country and more.
Donors can also make a cash donation via PayPal.
Volunteers will also be needed to wrap and distribute gifts the week of Dec. 12. Gifts will be distributed on Dec. 17.
Brotherhood Tree “elves” hope to deliver gifts to about 2,000 families in McLean County.
The Brotherhood Tree was created in 1969.
