Dr. Kattie Fitton
Dr. Karrie Fitton died at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 at home with her loving family at her side. She was born May 24, 1962 in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Dr. William Hankins and Marsha Schierbeck. She married Steven Fitton Nov. 3, 1991 in Fairbury, Ill. at the home of John and Terry Hoffman.
Services to celebrate her life will be Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at Vale Church, 1304 Morrissey Dr., Bloomington, Ill. at 1 p.m. with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Pastor Ted Max will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Heartland Bank to her Children’s Educational Fund.
Karrie is survived by her husband, Steve and their children Tyler Lee Fitton and Caitlyn Jean Fitton; her brothers, Brent Hankins and Dr. Curt Hankins; and her niece, Ashley Hankins; and her parents.
Karrie attended Peoria High School where she was active in girls’ swimming, Honors Choir, Young LIfe and Committee of 40. She attended University of Illinois for two years and then Logan College of Chiropractic where she received her doctorate in 1986. She opened her practice in 1986 at her father’s office. She then opened the Accident and Sports Clinic in Bloomington and Fairbury. Her clinic was opened six days a week where she treated thousands of patients, helping them achieve health and wellness.
Karrie was loved by family, friends, and patients and she had a beautiful, caring, joyful spirit, perfect finger nails and an infectious laugh.
