Pedestrian killed in crash in Normal UPDATED

NORMAL- A pedestrian that was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Vernon and Grandview in Normal Tuesday morning has died, according to the McLean County Coroners Office.

He is being identified as 74 year old Lanny Lobdell.

According to Normal Police Department Chief Rick Bleichner, Lobdell was near the crosswalk at the intersection of Grandview and Vernon, when he was struck by the driver, who was heading east on Vernon. The victim  was pinned under the vehicle when police arrived around 9:30am.  The Normal Police Department reported the victim was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center. The driver was uninjured and is cooperating with investigators.

Bleichner says if anyone has information, to call Normal Police at 454-9535.

The intersection reopened to traffic at 12:30 Tuesday afternoon.
