Fire causes $15,000 damage to Bloomington building

BLOOMINGTON – Fire fighters in Bloomington battled a blaze in the 500 block of North Roosevelt Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

The Bloomington Fire Department reported the fire was called in just before 2 p.m. Crews found a mother at the scene who said her son was inside the building.

Firemen entered the complex to search for the son. The department said the son was able to exit the building without assistance. A dog and cat were also brought from the building without injury.

The damage is estimated at $15,000. The cause is still under investigation.
