Father, son plead not guilty on ISU sexual assault, drug case charges

BLOOMINGTON – A father and son pleaded not guilty on Friday to charges relating to an alleged sexual assault at an Illinois State University dorm during a recent student orientation week.

Shawn Childs Jr., 19, of Chicago, is accused of assaulting a female after his father, Shawn Childs Sr., drugged the girl.

Childs Jr. is charged with two counts of criminal sexual abuse and four counts of criminal sexual assault. Childs Sr. is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The two will next appear in McLean County Court on Sep. 2.
