Lincoln man dies in crash with 2 semis

LINCOLN – A Lincoln man who was reportedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 55 was killed early Tuesday morning after his car hit two semis.

Illinois State Police say, Nathan Gunterman, 22, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-55 north of Lincoln at about 2:15 a.m. when his car hit the left side of a southbound semi and continued northbound before being hit by another semi.

The Logan County Coroner’s office pronounced Gunterman dead at the scene. No other injuries reported. Police say no charges are expected.
