NORMAL – A father and son are facing charges relating to an alleged sexual assault of a female on the Illinois State University campus during the school’s freshman preview week.
Shawn Childs Jr., 19, of Chicago, allegedly assaulted the women in a residence hall Tuesday night, after his father Shawn Childs Sr. allegedly put a drug in the women’s drink.
Students and parents stay in dorm rooms, on separate floors, during the preview event.
Childs Jr. is being charged with four counts of criminal sexual assault. Chids Sr. is being charged with possession of a controlled substance. Both men face arraignment in McLean County Court July 29.
