Preview the Brew, July 30th 12-3PM at Fat Jacks

Last year at Bruegala there was a survey for attendees to take and we got some great feedback on Bruegala.  One of the biggest pieces of feedback was that there really seemed to be a disconnect for many attendees between the beer and wine and the real goal of the event.  Last year the Bloomington Normal Jaycees donated $69,000 raised from Bruegala to local charities.  The money raised by Bruegala makes a huge impact in our community!

The Preview the Brew event will be at Fat Jacks from 12-3PM on July 30th.  Discounted tickets will be on sale as well as 2016 merchandise. Members of the charity organizations benefiting from Bruegala will be on hand to chat with people about the amazing work that they do in our community.

There’s no cover charge to get in and some of the Baron’s favorite brews will be on tap specially for the event.

Labor Day – Expanding voting rights for all

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
