LOS ANGELES – Former Illinois State and Normal West standout Brock Stewart has been optioned to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City, according to cbsla.com.
Stewart was projected to start for the Dodgers on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles, but instead was sent to the minors as the Dodgers were expected to remove Brandon McCarthy from the disabled list.
After a meteoric rise through the minor leagues this season, Stewart made his Major League debut last week, allowing five runs in five innings while taking the loss at Milwaukee.
