BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington fire crews battled a blaze at a residence in the 1400 block of North Lee Street early Monday morning.
Battalion Chief Jeff Flaherty said the fire department was called to the 1 1/2 story home at about 1:40 a.m. Six people, including five children, were displaced in the blaze.
The fire reportedly started in the kitchen. Flaherty said the fire and smoke damage to the home is estimated between $100,000 to $125,000.
Fire officials report there were no injuries and the cause is under investigation. Officials say one person was transported from the fire scene with a non-fire related medical issues.
The Red Cross was called in to assist the family.
