LINCOLN – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Mclean, DeWitt, Logan, Piatt, Tazewell and Woodford counties and much of Central Illinois until 10 a.m.
WMBD reports there’s a possibility of strong thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, damaging winds and the possibility of isolated tornadoes to come later this evening.
The area is also under a Flash Flood Watch as thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall will continue through mid-morning, possibly with rainfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour and lead to localized flash flooding. The National Weather Service reports shorter bursts of rainfall rates of 5 inches per hour could cause flash flooding as well.
