Richard Hurley
Richard Albert Hurley, 76, Chenoa, died at 5:51 p.m. June 14 at Heritage Health, El Paso.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the Chenoa American Legion. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hurley was born April 3, 1940 in Lincoln the son of Carl and Ruby Evelyn Dean Hurley Jr. He married Karen S. Sylvester on Aug. 10, 1976 in Pontiac. She survives in Chenoa.
Other survivors include two sons, Kyle R. (Helen) Hurley, Campbell, Texas; Kevin C. Hurley, Chenoa; two sisters, Connie Harp, Lincoln; Kay Carlin, Chestnut; two grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Mr. Hurley served in the US Army during the Korean War. After serving in the Army he was employed as an Illinois State Trooper obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police; Yorkshire Association and Chester-White Association.
