BLOOMINGTON – The American Red Cross announced its new CEO for the Central and Southern Illinois Region to be Lyn Hruska.
Hruska has been with the Red Cross for 19 years and will now oversee three chapters of the Red Cross, as well as 78 counties and a population of about 3 million people.
Following the announcement, Hruska explained how the Red Cross is assisting those in need both locally and nationally, with a focus on Houston, Texas following a series of floods.
“We literally have people who have left our communities in Bloomington, Peoria, and Quincy to go serve on the ground in Texas for the folks who need us,” said Hruska.
To get involved with the Red Cross you can contact the local chapter at 309-662-0500.
