BPD Cyber Crimes Unit assists in child pornography investigation that nets arrest

URBANA – The Bloomington Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit assisted in the investigation that led to child pornography charges against a Fisher man.

Clinton Schaffer, 44, is accused in a federal indictment of sexual exploitation of a minor, distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

According to the Champaign News-Gazette, Schaffer allegedly attempted or used a child to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing child pornography between Jan. 1 and April 15. The indictment also claims that Schaffer distributed and possessed images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct in March.

Schaffer could get up to 50 years in prison if convicted of the sexual exploitation of a minor and child pornography charges.
