BLOOMINGTON – Connect Transit is continuing to take public comments on proposed new bus routes as its Board of Trustees prepares to take a final vote.
The board decided last week to table the vote until its meeting on May 24.
General Manager Andrew Johnson said the comments they’ve received up to this point have helped shape the proposal.
“That was the whole plan,” said Johnson. “We wanted to start with a proposal, and then get public comments, and then allow those comments to help shape the plan.
“We had a consultant come in. They put together what their proposal was, but then the public needs to look at that plan and give us their input so they can put the local flavor into it.”
The proposed route map can be viewed here. The public can submit comments by emailing [email protected] or by mailing Connect Transit Board, c/o Connect Transit, 351 Wylie Dr., Normal.
Johnson said in addition to taking public comment, the agency will be holding another listening session on May 19 at Uptown Station from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
