BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man has been found guilty of brutally beating his mother last August.
McLean County State’s Attorney Jason Chambers said a jury on Monday convicted Roger Kinnerson, 41, of aggravated domestic battery. The prosecutor says Kinnerson took issue with his mother dancing with someone of a different race and later going to her apartment alone with that person. Kinnerson beat his mother at her residence. The 55-year-old victim spent two days in an intensive care unit recovering.
Chambers said the mother did not cooperate with authorities but the case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Brad Rigdon with testimony from emergency personnel.
Kinnerson must serve 85 percent of the sentence when it is imposed on June 7.
