
Dorothy A. Pointer, 90, of Normal, passed away at 7:52 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Heritage Health in Normal.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 12 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal with Rev. Eric Powell officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service, Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal.

Dorothy was born July 24, 1925 in Streator, the daughter of Irving and Ann Biros Baumann. She married Earl Pointer on May 25, 1966 in Streator. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1980.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Bill) Spencer of Normal; a brother, Donald (Teresa) Baumann of Bourbonnais, three sisters, Arline (George) O’Connell of Orland Park, Jan Henderson of California and Betty (Al) Kollar of Peoria; two grandchildren, Jacqueline (Jack) Walker of Decatur and Douglas Ernst of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael S. Vanko, Jr. on April 8, 2010.
Dorothy worked in assembly for General Electric for many years. She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Normal.
Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, traveling and cooking. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sisters, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed.
