PONTIAC – Pontiac Township High School administrators have increased security at the school following an anonymous threat found earlier this week.
District 90 superintendent Jon Kilgore said the concerning message was left on a school-issued calculator, but there’s no reason to suspect the threat is credible.
“It would be no different than somebody writing an anonymous threat on a bathroom stall,” Kilgore said.
The school has police checking all bags brought into the building and school security is inspecting all lockers. School officials sent letters to parents notifying them of the threat and security measures which are expected to continue through Friday.
“We are extremely safe here and at the same time we are being diligent and mindful,” Kilgore said.
