BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Salvation Army is down to the final week of its annual Make-A-Difference fundraising campaign.
Captain Paul James told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin bell ringers brought in more than the $230,000 bench mark and he’s optimistic the mail appeal will meet its goal $250,000 goal too.
“We are still shy or our mail appeal campaign, we are at $234,000,” James said. “We are (almost) there.”
The totals will be announced on January 28. The appeal helps fund Salvation Army operations throughout the year.
James added the Safe Harbor shelter also is need of hygiene items, especially towels and toilet paper as it’s been running over-capacity every night during the winter. A list of items in need can be found at www.sabloomington.org.
