Pearl Rosette Kinzinger, 93, formerly of Danvers, went home to be with her Heavenly Father and beloved husband, Ralph on Nov. 23 at Heritage Health in El Paso, Illinois.

She was born Jan. 19, 1922 in Pontiac. The daughter of Lars and Bunel Thompson, she married Ralph Kinzinger on Sep.10, 1944. He died May 16, 2000. Survivors include one son, Rick Kinzinger of Normal; three daughters, Carol (the late Jerry) Hoffman of Congerville, Karen (Greg) Otto, Danvers and Marla Roy of Bloomington. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson , one great granddaughter, three sisters, four brothers and one infant brother and sister.

A private graveside service, for the immediate family only, will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery in Danvers at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with Rev. Walt Baertsch officiating. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

There will be no visitation or memorial service per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East White Oak Bible Church where she was a life member.

She was a homemaker and avid reader in her later years. She will be missed by her family and friends. The family is grateful to all her doctors and caregivers the last four years of her life.

Jean McDonaldJean McDonald

Jean Ferrel McDonald, 79, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Nov. 20 at her residence.

Her Mass of Ressurection will be at 10 a.m. on Dec. 2 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington with Monsignor Douglas Hennessey officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

A private family interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Normal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society in care of Holy Trinity Church, 711 North Main Street, Bloomington.

Jean was born Oct. 24, 1936 in Rockford a daughter to Irvin and Elizabeth Heggy Ferrel. She married Dennis McDonald on Aug. 18, 1958.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Randy) Butts, Bloomington; Patrick (Debra) McDonald, Dunedin, Florida; Mark (Angee) McDonald, Kings Mills, Ohio; Kathleen (Walt) Kraft, Bloomington; and Timothy (Amanda) McDonald, Geneva, Illinois, grandchildren Anne (Jay) McGee, Michael Butts, Catherine Butts, Reid Butts, Kristin (Ben) Yates, Lauren Castillo, Megan (Dan) Grothman, Caroline McDonald, Michael Kraft, Margaret Kraft, Addelyn McDonald and Jameson McDonald, great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Madeline McGee, Alexandra, Logan and Wyatt Yates, her brother Robert (Marian) Ferrel, Boynton Beach, Fla. and many dear friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael Ferrel McDonald.

She attended Trinity Grade School and Trinity High School and graduated from Appleton High School, Appleton Wis. She was an honorary member of the Trinity Class of 1954. She graduated from Marquette University in Dental Hygiene in 1956.

Jean spent her youth in Bloomington. She was a champion swimmer and diver and also a darn good golfer and cheerleader. She returned to Bloomington in 1968 to raise her family. She was active in the community as well as in the lives of her children, grandchildren and friends. Jean never turned down the opportunity to celebrate anything. Our gatherings will never be the same.
