James Robert Blain, 76, or Jim to his friends and family, died on Oct. 21.

Born Sep. 14, 1939 in Bloomington, he was the son of Vernon and Lillian Blain and is survived by his sister Dolores Stauffer and three brothers, Charles, David and Stephen. He was preceded in death by his brother Leon. Jim was married to Jerri Fitzgerald Blain on April 26,1962 and is survived by Jerri, his son Mitchell R. Blain and grandson Mitchell C Blain. He is preceded in death by his daughter Mandy.

He was a graduate of Danvers High Schools in Danvers and eventually moved with Jerri to Denver, Colorado where he became a Mechanic, Entrepreneur, and part owner of Grey Line Tour buses. He enjoyed woodworking during his retirement creating unique rocking horses and doll beds for family, friends and local children and was surrogate brother and father as well as loyal friend to many.

A memorial celebrating Jim’s life will be held at the Cross Roads Chapel, 9901 West 50th Ave., Wheatridge, Colo. at 12:30p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s name to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Kathryn L. Hall, 91, Hopedale and formerly of Morton, died at 2:15 a.m. Oct. 27 at the Hopedale Nursing Home, Hopedale.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury at a later date.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. Sunday also at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to the Hopedale Nursing Home.

Mrs. Hall was born July 27, 1924 in Fairbury the daughter of Walter and Lora Larkin Hetherington. She married Dean Laverne Hall on Dec. 4, 1943 in Cullom. He died on Feb.12, 2012.

Survivors include three daughters, Judith (Ron) Kruse, Groveland, Deana (William) Hall, Leawood, Kan., Doris Hall, Raytown, Mo., four grandchildren, Dan (Gina Luzzi) Hall, Dean (Dr. Ara) Hall, Lori (Terry) Parkin, Leanne (Cindy) Kruse, one granddaughter in law, onna Vandyke, six great grandchildren, Karis Parkin, Karlee Parkin, Darren Hall, Alex Hall, Sabrina Vandyke, Jillian Vandyke, one great great grandson, Paxton Parkin and one sister, Betty (Jack) Lawrence, Fairbury.

She is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Rachel Higgins, and one brother, John Hetherington.

Kathryn was a 1942 graduate of Fairbury High School. During World War II she traveled to California with friends to work in the plane factories as did “Rosie the Riveter”. She served as President of Morton Business and Professional Woman’s Club (1971-1972) and worked as a savings officer at the Morton Community Bank. She wintered in Arizona for many years and was a member of the Bounder Motor Home Club.
