DANVILLE – Two of Danville’s favorite sons have not forgotten their hometown.
A foundation has taken possession of the boyhood home of Dick and Jerry Van Dyke, brothers who made it big in show business.
“The next step is to raise the money to restore it,” said foundation director Todd Regan. “We’d like to restore it back to the way the home would have looked like when the Van Dykes moved in. It’ll have a small museum in it and also contain our offices for the foundation.”
Regan’s been involved in a similar effort for the Walt Disney birthplace in Chicago.
Regan said proceeds from the Dick Van Dyke Foundation will fund arts education and advocacy.
