Joyce Irene (Eppel) Wilson, 85 of Chenoa died peacefully at home in Chenoa on Oct. 7.
Her rich life will be celebrated with a memorial Mass on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chenoa. Father Carl LoPresti will officiate. Visitation will beat the church, one hour prior to the service. A private family Inurnment will take place at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa has charge of arrangements.
Joyce was born in Peoria, July 5, 1930 a daughter to Enos“Bid” and Irene (Godsil) Eppel. She graduated from Trinity HS, Bloomington; studied home economics at Marycrest College, Davenport, Iowa; attended Illinois State University. On Aug. 6, 1949, she married Kenneth Lloyd Wilson at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington.
Joyce retired from Chenoa School Districtin 1993. She enjoyed buying/selling antiques; traveling;entertaining friends in her Chenoa home. On St. Patrick’s Day, Joyce honored her Irish heritage with German-style corned beef.
Joyce is survived by four children: Kevin (Terry) Wilson, Florida; Karen (Philip) Lienhart, Michigan; Keenan (Melba) Wilson, Chenoa; Kristina (Tom) Schneider, Colo. Four grandchildren: Marcus Wilson, Amanda (Dustin) Perkins, Ayla and Gavan Lienhart. Her sister is Helen Jean (Paul) Kerber, Colfax. Joycewelcomed as family Christy (Denny) Harold; Tara, Treyton, Tiana, Tierra and Jayvon Shickel, Bloomington; got kisses from great-great-granddaughter, A’Laycia.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to Chenoa Swimming Pool (City Park District), Chenoa Public Library, or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
