Bloomington man gets 14 years in prison for role in armed robbery

BLOOMINGTON – A man who played the role of getaway driver for the armed robbery of the Cigarette Express on North Prospect Road in January has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Antonio Rivera, 38, of Bloomington, pleaded guilty to armed robbery with a dangerous weapon earlier this year. Larry Bridges, 26, of Bloomington, and Michael Dobson, 24, of Rockford, face similar charges for their part in the robbery.

Rivera must serve 50 percent of his sentence. This is his fifth felony conviction.
