NAACP recognizes Bloomington Chief Heffner

BLOOMINGTON – A major honor for Bloomington Police Chief Brendan Heffner.

The Bloomington-Normal NAACP has awarded the organization’s Merlin Kennedy Community Service Award to Heffner. Chief Heffner is being honored for his efforts to begin and restore community and police partnerships.

Chief Heffner will be presented with the award at the NAACP’s Freedom Fund Banquet on September 19.

Heffner says he is deeply honored and humbled to receive the award.
