BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Fire Department quickly extinguished a garage fire Wednesday afternoon.

Crews were called to 1207 W. Chestnut at about 1:15 p.m. Battalion Chief Steve Giusti said the garage was “fully involved” when his team arrived.

“The entire structure was consumed in flames,” said Giusti. “We’ve got a couple (of) exposures. The house at 1207, 1209, and actually 1205 sustained some heat damage from the fire.”

Giusti said the fire was out in about two minutes.

No injuries were reported and as of Wednesday afternoon investigators were still working to find the cause of the fire.

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
