McLean County panel recommends Behavioral Health Coordinating Council

BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Board’s Executive Committee has recommended the approval the creation of a Behavioral Health Coordinating Council for the county.

The creation of this council was one of the recommendations of the recently completed report on the county’s mental health care. County Administrator Bill Wasson explained the purpose of the group.

“Allow for active dialogue within the community about the mental health system and the policies that the County Board may implement in the future,” he said.

Wasson said the council will consist of multiple decision makers and leaders in the community.

“Including the areas of health care, housing, social services, education, justice, and government,” Wasson said.

The coordinating council still needs the approval of the full County Board.
