BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington City Council will vote Monday night on continuing its funding agreement with the Downtown Bloomington Association.
The city provides $90,000 in funding each year in exchange for the association providing downtown operations.
“They don’t have a, for example, ability to tax or that sort of thing,” said Assistant City Manager Steve Rasmussen. “There are only two employees there. So, the two employees, and the office space, and office equipment, and any activities are funded out of several contributions. This is one of the major ones.”
Rasmussen added the group will also make a presentation to the council on their accomplishments over the past year.
Also on Monday the city’s Budget Task Force will have its second meeting. Rasmussen said that group will also make a report to the full city council during a special work session which will begin at 5:45 p.m. in City Hall.
